Viborg is one of Denmark’s best cycling cities. The landscape formed by the last Ice Age offers a combination of rolling hills, flat plains, deep lakes and the innermost gulf of the Limfjord – Denmark’s largest fjord.

The Cycle Star (Danish: “Den midtjyske Cykelstjerne”) is an ambitious network of cycling paths meeting at the train and bus station and leading out through the municipality
– encouraging citizens to combine cycling and public transport and to use the bike instead of a car.
Viborg Trail Arena offers more than 100 km of mountain bike tracks all over the municipality. The tracks are all build by volunteers who combine their love for biking with creating the best possible conditions for others – giving something to their local neighbourhood.

On the professional scene, the World Championships in Duathlon in Viborg in 2022 also gave excellent cycling experiences – and so did the 2024 UEC European Mountain Bike Marathon Championships.

In 2027 Viborg will host the MTB Youth European Championships.

The area offers lots of opportunities whether one prefers road cycling, mountain biking or leisure cycling – and no matter your cycling style: remember to enjoy the ride, the nature and the coffee stop!
